Trying out something new. A new way of living. A more simple life. One farmer. One farmer's wife. Two boys. Two rams. Six ewes. Two goats. Two pigs. Three rescue kittens. Nine hens. Two bee hives. Room to roam. Room to get dirty. Room to grow in mid-west soil. A wary farm wife because this is a new life for our family. But God is good and so are fresh eggs.

We are in love...
with our turkey. Sadly, we lost one of our turkey chicks late this week. We called all over and could not find another baby turkey to replace our recently deceased one. Our remaining chick was lonely and sad. From our front porch, all we heard was anxious chirping. Farmer J spent more and more time with the baby chick, and the chick imprinted on J. "Are you my mama?!"
The chick follows J all around the farm.
The chick cuddles with me in the kitchen! (The cloth prevents a potential poop accident getting on our clothes.)
The chick lays on JJ while he builds up his Minecraft world.
This initial "meat bird" is getting more like a pet with every passing minute it cuddles on our lap.
The chick even sits on Farmer J's shoulder as he walks around the house!
Eventually, when the chick gets older, and the weather gets warmer, the little turkey will live outside. Until then, we are enjoying our time with the baby chick in our house!
PS: Lots of proper hand hygiene will ensure we don't get salmonella from our fuzzy bird friend!

Another fridge favorite...
The plans for the $40 pig arc!
And if you want to see Farmer J's pig guru, check on the link below!
Lastly, some updated turkey pictures!
It looks like the turkey is being interrogated! Hard to get a good picture of a turkey when you are the turkey holder and camera crew, all in one!
