Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.

Welcome to The Wary Farmwife seasonal journey! My goal, to blog daily (give or take a day, week or month) to showcase hobby farm life across the seasons. Stop by The Wary Farmwife blog and check out what we're up to...our front porch door is always open!

The Animals

Aoife (pronounced Ee-fa): Tunis Ewe with lambs Una and little boy

Beatrix: Tunis Ewe with lambs Lily and Jane

Ace: (Our first Loaner Tunis Ram-now back home). Dada to Lily, Jane, Una and a boy lamb.

Buddy: (Our Second Loaner Tunis Ram-now back home). Dada to three boys lambs.

Duncan: Our first purchased Ram. He is two years old and weighs more than Farmer J. One big boy! He will hopefully be the proud papa to lots of baby Tunis lambs!

The "girls". We have around a dozen egg laying hens.  Our breeds: Barred Rocks, Black Austrolorpe, Bantam, Americanas, Auricanas, Golden Laced Wyandotte, White Brahma

Ciaran-black Pygmy goat

Padraig: tan Pygmy goat

Trinity Lutheran Eve and Fisherman Finnegan
(the two cutest cats in the county; our only indoor animals we rescued from
our local humane society- but really, who rescued who?!)

Sparrow Hawk Winterfell
(Our third (AND FINAL) rescue kitten, who fits in beautifully with Finn and Trin)

Our Gloucestershire old spot (GOS) heritage breed pigs
(Their names:  Bacon and Porkchop)

One of our two bee hives- this one is in the garden.  Our second hive is in the orchard!  Thank you bees!  What would we do without you!

Turkey
(Farmer J brought him home from Farm & Fleet- impulse purchase; the most expensive Thanksgiving turkey we will ever buy!)
