Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.

Lazy Sunday...

No way!

Tomato picking...

And eating...

Painting more furniture... These shelves will go in JJ's room!

Before...

This lovely bench my parents picked up for us at a garage sale needed a clean down and a new paint job...

After...

More seating for little hobbits...at least four to five little behinds can fit here...

I love this color (Railings by Farrow & Ball)
and have used it throughout our home!

Some time for silliness...

And Finn, as typical, got in a cat nap!

Pigs and Duncan videos

The boys go back to school tomorrow! Which means, that hopefully I'll have a little bit more time to spend writing on this blog! Until then… Here are some more videos that Farmer J took just yesterday.

This video is of the pigs cracking away at the black walnuts! They love them...and I love that they love them because it's dangerous to mow a yard full of black walnuts! Eye protection necessary!

The next video (below) is Duncan, our Tunis RAM, charging his farmer that lovingly takes care of him...despite the fact that every 10 seconds Duncan tries to injure him.

Pig video

Farmer J picked ripe tomatoes from the garden while the pigs enjoyed an afternoon treat of orchard pears. Mr. and Ms. Piggy are getting so big!

Click above to see the pigs (with the sounds of our little hobbit children in the background!).

Abundance

This single pear tree has 400-500 pears hanging from its branches! Pear sauce for breakfast, lunch and dinner this winter!

Pigs love black walnuts

Farmers love free food for their animals!
Our farm is full of black walnut trees! And guess what, pigs love them! Farmer J and the boys collect the black walnuts and crush them for the pigs! Once the pigs are four months old, their teeth and jaws are strong enough to eat the black walnut without any help from us!

Take me home, country roads...

Our farm is nestled in the woods just right of center... Evening stroll...

Happy Monday!

Here are some photos to help you get through the day...

Honestly...this is too adorable!

Little boy pig on the left; little girl on the right. Getting some love from Farmer J!

The pig just flopped on my feet, begging me for a tummy rub!

Our baby chicks are full fledged teenagers...

Big turkey!

The trail to the pig pen...

Hope these pictures helped you settle into your week!
